Birmingham Garden Show

These are pictures from the Birmingham garden show that I went to back in July? There are 3 things I absolultely love....1) the 'pink' garden in the first image below. It was gorgeous and I like the idea of painting the plant supports....not sure how it would look in a 'real' garden but I like it all the same.
2) The Hydrangea 'fireworks'  - white flowers below. Really stunning and quite unusual. I have been trying to find this online and there is only one supplier that I can find that sells it...unfortunately its quite pricey and my lack of cash means I wont be buying one anytime soon! Think I will ask for it for my birthday! :)
3) The bed flower display! How fantastic is that!!

Does anyone know what this plant is?

Raised Bed

This is one of my current projects - a raised bed. Its in the front garden and basically I decided to put it there as  the front is mostly grass and not a lot of planting. Also the lawn is not great in patches so I am going to try and re-lay the turf I have dug up into another part of the lawn which is struggling. You can probably see the turf behind the bed waiting for me to sort it out!
So this bed was quite easy to make. Luckily I had 2 old, worn scaffolding planks which were cut into two and then screwed at the sides with brackets. We dug out the base of the bed, removed the turf and sank the frame into the ground.

At the moment it looks rather empty but I have planted a couple of cordyline that I had already and the rest are bulbs at the moment. There is a selection of dahlia, ranunculous, freesia, a Sandra Bernhard peony and tulips. These should look good in a few months time. I will also be adding other bits and pieces along the way so I will keep updating with any developments!

Hello

Hello! Welcome to my blog...eek! I should probably start with a disclaimer to any gardeners out there reading this to say I cannot be held responsible for any of the information on here being correct! I am the first to admit that my gardening expertise and knowledge is limited so please do not assume that I know what I am doing!
Anyway I am sure this will become apparent when I start posting pictures of what I am doing! Hmm..should be interesting..entertaining if nothing else hopefully!
